Registration Support Representative

Seeking a highly-organized, self-reliant and service-oriented individual. At the direction of the Registration Support Manager, the Registration Support Representative serves onsite at dealerships providing California DMV registration processing for dealers on an interim or permanent basis. Qualified candidates will have the ability to manage clients’ in-house DMV registration needs with minimal supervision. They must adhere to procedural safeguards, while exercising good judgment in order to maintain client relationships and guarantee efficient processing. Problem-solving techniques, strong organizational skills and time management are key. This role requires computer knowledge and the ability to learn new software programs.

Requirements

The minimum requirements for this position include:

  • Three years of California DMV title and registration processing experience
  • BPA program processing (eFiling) knowledge
  • Excellent customer service, and communication and time management skills
  • Knowledge of DMV regulations
  • Familiarity with various DMS systems used in the automotive industry
  • Ability to travel up to 200 miles each way
  • Ability to adhere to policies and procedures

Qualifications

  • Pursuant to California Government Code Section 1040, fingerprint/criminal record clearance is required
  • A clean driving record and a current California driver license
  • The ability to work and interact diplomatically with all levels of company personnel
  • The ability to work well with minimal supervision while adhering to procedural safeguards
  • Strong computer skills (Internet, email, Word, Excel) and the desire to learn new software programs
  • Ability to handle a high level of direct contact with customers that requires strong oral and written communication skills
  • Dependability and punctuality

Vehicle Registration Support Technician

The Vehicle Registration Support Technician works in a high-performance, fast-paced and customer-focused team environment. A qualified candidate will need to interpret, apply and explain provisions of the California Vehicle Code, as well as the regulations, policies and procedures of the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) pertaining to the registering and titling of vehicles and vessels. Knowledge of vehicle dealer licensing, registration services and dismantlers is desirable, but not essential. Duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Responding to customer open/closed requests
  • Customer inquiries
  • Requests for account information
  • Determining the most effective resolution to customer issues
  • Maintaining customer accounts

Requirements

The minimum requirements for this position include:

  • Strong technical knowledge of vehicle registration
  • Interpersonal skills
  • The ability to work independently
  • Strong organizational skills

This position also requires a strong knowledge of troubleshooting and basic computer operations. Dependability and punctuality are essential for this position. Saturday and/or extended office hours may be required.

Qualifications

  • Pursuant to California Government Code Section 1040, fingerprint/criminal record clearance is required
  • At least one year of experience registering and titling vehicles at a dealership, DMV, a registration service or AAA
  • Knowledge of modern office methods and equipment
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills, including sensitivity, patience and flexibility in order to communicate with customers in a friendly, courteous and efficient manner
  • Ability to process new and used vehicle registrations
  • Strong computer skills
  • Typing requirement of at least 45 wpm
